David Bowie and Queen recorded a whole batch of songs that have never been released, according to a former roadie. The tantalising prospect of a hidden cache of recordings by such huge rock stars has been revealed by Peter Hince, who was head of Queen’s road crew when the band and Bowie collaborated on their hit song, Under Pressure, in 1981. He has disclosed that there was “other material Queen recorded with Bowie that never got released”. He was in the studio with them when they performed and recorded it. The revelation will be published in a forthcoming book on Bowie by Neil Cossar, a music historian.

As someone who first saw the Dame as a raw 13 year old at the Free Trade Hall in 1973 (the tour that finished with the infamous Ziggy 'retirement') and subsequently saw him another 8 times, this book is a must read. 10 January 2016 was a dark day for those who had grown up with the man and his music, so the chance to relive the good times with fellow-minded people is simply too good to miss. These are excellent books and projects generally, so go on, treat yourself and buy one (definitely this one).

This is a quality book, unlike so many on rock music which are simply 'cut and paste' by journalists from material already in the public domain, or tabloid-style cheap sensationalism. However, Neil Cossar has spent a huge amount of time researching, interviewing and compiling first-hand accounts of people who were actually 'there'. The result is informative, intimate and hugely entertaining for fans of Bowie or rock music in general. Some great unseen images add to the unique flavour of the book. Highly recommended.

It's full of great stories that shed a whole new light on one of rock's true innovators, and the pics, many of which are unique to this book, are wonderful. Loving this great addition to my music library!

I thought I had enough Bowie books until I read about this. And it doesn't dissapoint. What makes it different from other Bowie books is that this is the story as told by fans who saw him live, friends he had and musicians who worked with him, all telling their own unique story. It works really well, from his school days, to early gigs and recordings right through until his last tour in 2004. If you like David Bowie I would highly recommend this book.
